When the committee took over last year, they committed to restoring the festival to its original venue, Churchill Park. The return to this prime location has attracted support from smaller local businesses, including BBQ stall operators, juice sellers, and several small restaurants, which have created a lively atmosphere at the event. However, Raj pointed out that despite these efforts, the festival’s status as a charity event meant they still fell short of their fundraising goals.
While the committee was able to cover expenses and compensate entertainment ride operators, they acknowledged that the total raised will not meet their targets. The missed fundraising targets were attributed to the insufficient support from larger business entities. Raj expressed gratitude to the small enterprises that did participate, stating that their involvement contributed positively to the overall success of the festival, despite not reaching the hoped-for fundraising amount.

Notably, during last year’s festival, Vodafone Fiji’s senior business relationship manager highlighted the event’s mission of charity, reminding attendees of the collective responsibility to uplift those in need.
