Lautoka Stuns Rewa in Thrilling IDC Showdown!

Lautoka pulled off a surprising victory in the second day of the primary school inter-district competition by defeating Rewa 2-1.

From the outset, Lautoka displayed high energy and concentration. They took an early lead with a powerful header from a corner kick, making the score 1-0. Rewa quickly responded and equalized just before halftime, bringing the score to 1-1.

The second half was highly competitive, with both teams striving to score. Lautoka regained the lead after a skillful series of passes culminated in a goal, making it 2-1. Although Rewa pressed hard to make a comeback, Lautoka’s defense held firm, and their goalkeeper made several crucial saves. When the final whistle sounded, the players in blue celebrated their hard-fought victory.

Lautoka’s coach, Kavneel Chand, expressed pride in his team’s efforts, stating that the win was the result of the players’ dedication.

“This win shows how teamwork and hard work pay off, and I am very proud of the boys,” he remarked.

Chand explained that the players for the Lautoka district were chosen after a trial process.

“The preparation went well. We began recruiting players weeks ago following the inter-primary competition. Schools were invited to send their best players for trials, which helped form a strong team,” he added.

He encouraged the opposing team to come prepared for the competition ahead.
