Investigations are underway following a fire that broke out at the Energy Fiji Ltd office in Lautoka around noon yesterday. Witnesses reported that the fire appeared to have originated from the server room of the office.

Firefighters from the National Fire Authority responded promptly, with teams from both the Lautoka and Nadi stations arriving to tackle the situation. They worked diligently to manage the heavy smoke that billowed from the building for nearly an hour. Eyewitnesses noted the presence of three fire trucks at the scene, with firefighters utilizing water from two fire hydrants to effectively contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby offices.

Authorities, including the police, have confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the fire has commenced. As the inquiry proceeds, community members remain hopeful for quick findings that will enhance safety measures in the future.
