Champions Lautoka fought fiercely to overcome a determined Nadroga side 3-2 in Round 12 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at Churchill Park today.

The Blues started the scoring with a penalty by Sairusi Nalubu. Nadroga quickly leveled the match through a goal by Ravinesh Reddy, but Lautoka regained the lead with a strike from Aporosa Yada.

Saula Waqa further extended Lautoka’s advantage with a well-placed header from a cross by Muni Shivam. Nadroga reduced the deficit with a penalty scored by national striker Rusiate Matarerega.

Despite numerous opportunities for both teams, the match ended with a close victory for Lautoka.

With this win, Lautoka moves to the third position with 19 points, while Nadroga remains in seventh place with 14 points.
