The 93rd Lautoka Open Pro-AM Golf Championship, sponsored by Shop N Save Supermarket, is set to attract a record number of over 100 golfers from both Fiji and abroad. The 18-hole stroke play event will commence at 7 AM on Saturday at the Lautoka Golf Club.

Lautoka Golf Club (LGC) president James Krishna has highlighted the competitive nature of the field in both professional and amateur categories. He expressed optimism, noting that the favorable weather has allowed for optimal course conditions, ensuring the fairways and cart tracks are in exceptional shape for the tournament.

In celebration of the tournament, Shop N Save Supermarket will feature prizes for 9 holes in both the Gross and Nett Divisions, with special provisions made for junior golfers. The Fiji Professional Golf Association (PGA), a consistent supporter of LGC, is bringing in 17 top professional golfers to vie for a cash prize purse of $7,000, thanks to the efforts of Fiji PGA president Vikrant Chandra.

Raymond Singh, chairman of the trustees, confirmed that over 40 prizes will be available, along with sponsored sublimated T-shirts and a traditional Lovos lunch for all participants, ensuring a festive atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

A special acknowledgment is due to Shop N Save Supermarket and its directors, Neeshil Deo and Babu Rattan Deo, for their continued support in sponsoring the event for the eighth consecutive year.
