Lautoka’s first-choice goalkeeper, Viliame Tabucala, is uncertain for their Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice-Cream Battle of the Giants semifinal against Rewa today.
Tabucala sustained an injury during Lautoka’s group match against Navua and will undergo a final medical review today.
If deemed unfit, 19-year-old Epeli Vunibola will step in to start the crucial match.
Lautoka President Shalendra Prasad expects a challenging game against the Delta Tigers.
“We are aware of Rewa’s structured and experienced team, but we have trained well and will give them strong competition,” he said.
Additionally, Captain Sitiveni Cavuilagi will miss the semifinal after receiving a red card in last Sunday’s match against Navua.
The Flick Hygiene Lautoka vs. Extra Supermarket Rewa semifinal kicks off at 2pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
