Lautoka Gears Up for an Epic Basketball Showdown!

Lautoka will be the venue for the 2024 Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championship, as announced during the launch at the Lautoka City Council Chambers.

Prashant Prasad, the Vodafone Senior Business Relationship Manager for the Western and Northern Region, expressed pride in supporting the Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Nationals for the second year in a row.

“We are excited to launch this tournament and look forward to the thrilling games ahead. The path to victory is never easy, but true champions emerge when faced with challenges. Each of you are champions! We can’t wait to see the determination, skill, and sportsmanship each team will display in the west. With over 50 teams participating, this will be an exciting showdown! We also welcome the new schools joining us this year,” Prasad stated.

Mohammed Anees Khan, the CEO of Lautoka City Council, expressed enthusiasm about hosting the event for the second consecutive year.

“This tournament will feature 70 schools competing over three days, with more than 800 students involved. Lautoka Muslim College will debut with their Under 19 boys’ team, while Ratu Kadavulevu School, Sacred Heart College, and Votualevu College will return to the competition,” Khan added.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 29 to 31.
