Lautoka Football Club claimed a hard-fought victory against Nadroga, winning 2-1 in a match of the Extra Premier League held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. The victory marked Lautoka’s resilience and determination on the field, following a strong first half where they took an early lead.

Lautoka managed to secure an advantage with a goal in the first spell, but Nadroga, the former two-time Fiji FACT champions, put up a challenging defense. After halftime, Lautoka came back more assertively, managing to net two goals and regain the lead. Despite frantic efforts from Nadroga in the closing minutes to equalize, they missed critical scoring chances, allowing Lautoka to maintain their lead until the final whistle.

In another match that day, Nadi played to an intense 2-all draw against football giants Ba at the Fiji FA Academy grounds, illustrating the competitive nature of the league.

Lautoka’s victory further solidifies their standing as they aim for a better position in the league. Coach Imdad Ali has praised the improved discipline and performance of his players, which is reflected in their recent match outcomes.

As the season progresses, fans remain optimistic about Lautoka’s potential to achieve even greater success, especially with their momentum building from winning dynamic matches. This victory serves not only to boost their league position but also to inspire future performances as they strive to reclaim their title and compete in upcoming tournaments.
