Lautoka football team has emerged victorious in the Rooster Chicken / Scoop Ice Cream Battle of the Giants Tournament. The team from the sugar city defeated Nadi 2-0 in the final held at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this afternoon.
The match featured two Western teams competing on southern turf for this year’s Battle of the Giants. The first half ended in a goalless draw, but Lautoka came out strong in the second half, earning a penalty that led to the opening goal.
Saula Waqa successfully converted the penalty, and shortly after, Sairusi Nalaubu added a second goal, igniting celebrations among Lautoka fans. This victory marks Lautoka’s second major football tournament win this year, following their earlier triumph in the Fiji Fact tournament.
