In an intense and closely contested Skipper Cup rugby match, GENERAL Machinery Lautoka triumphed over Vinod Patel Ba with a narrow 26-22 victory at Vinod Patel Park. Despite Ba’s strong start and home advantage, Lautoka’s resilient play in the latter stages secured the victory.
Ba initially took control, thrilling their home supporters with early tries by Peni Waqa and Paula Rokotuiloma. Manasa Seruisovu complemented these efforts with a conversion and a penalty, leading Ba to a narrow 15-14 advantage at halftime. Lautoka kept pace with tries from Isikeli Rabitu and Rusiate Matai, both successfully converted by Kelemete Katudrau.

Other Skipper Cup fixtures saw Naitasiri edging Macuata 33-31, Malolo dominating Nadi 52-27, and Tailevu pulling off an upset against Nadroga with a close 31-29 victory at Lawaqa Park. These results showcase the competitive spirit of the tournament and the rich rugby culture in the region.
