Lautoka’s preparations for the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) have received a significant boost with the addition of experienced goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara. Currently residing and playing in Auckland, New Zealand, Mateinaqara has been released by his employer, Rams Group of Companies, to enhance Lautoka’s goalkeeping unit, which has faced challenges recently.
The former national team goalkeeper has previously won IDC titles and has a rich playing history, having represented Lautoka as well as Ba, Navua, Nadi, and Suva. Flick Hygiene Lautoka is placed in Group A alongside Suva, Navua, and Labasa and is set to kick off their campaign against Navua at 6 pm next Tuesday.
