Former national representative Watisoni Voli scored a late winner as JK Nadi Masters secured the Over 45 title in the RC Manubhai/Apco Coatings Veterans Tournament, defeating Rewa Masters 2-1 in a thrilling final at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.
Rewa started strong with Jolame Nokonokomoli opening the scoring in the third minute. However, persistent pressure from the Jetsetters led to Salesh Kumar equalizing just before halftime.
The second half was highly competitive, with both teams creating numerous chances and launching attacks. Voli eventually netted the winning goal from a well-executed midfield move, bypassing the Rewa defense and goalkeeper Sitiveni Qarau.
JK Nadi Masters took home $3000 for their victory, while runner-up Rewa Masters received $1000. Additionally, Nadi Captain Maika Kasami garnered the Golden Ball Award, and Rewa’s Nokonokomoli, who scored five goals in the tournament, won the Golden Boot.
JK Nadi Masters’ goalkeeper Waisiki Batina earned the Golden Glove award, and the team also received the Fair Play award.
