Fijian Captain Roy Krishna’s late goal was insufficient for Odisha FC as they fell to Chennaiyin FC in their opening match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League at Kalinga Stadium.
Odisha FC initially took the lead when Diego Mauricio successfully converted a penalty. However, in the second half, Chennaiyin equalized before quickly taking a 2-1 advantage, thanks to a brace from Farukh Choudhary. Debutant Daniel Chima Chukwu then added to Chennaiyin’s lead.
Krishna managed to score for Odisha FC in the final moments of the game, but it was too little, too late. Odisha FC is set to face Punjab FC in their next match.
