Ba FC clinched a crucial 1-0 victory against Nadi FC in the final moments of their Round 16 match in the Digicel Premier League held in Ba yesterday.
Under the intense heat, both teams presented strong starts while sticking to their respective strategies. Nadi had more possession and applied significant pressure on Ba, resulting in Kalaveti Sivoi receiving a yellow card in the 16th minute.
Despite the high pressure, both sides exhibited strong defensive play, leading to a scoreless first half.
In the second half, Ba showcased remarkable determination, with Etonia Dogolau scoring the decisive goal in the 88th minute. Ba maintained their focus to secure the match with a final score of 1-0.
Ba’s head coach, Timoci Seru, praised his players for their performance, expressing the importance of the three points earned in this match. “We had a slow start in the first half, but the boys came back strongly in the second half, utilized their opportunities well, and knew we needed the three points,” Seru stated.
On the other hand, Nadi’s coach, Varoon Karan, acknowledged that they missed several chances, which ultimately allowed Ba to secure the win. “We will work on those weak areas before we take on Rewa next week,” Karan remarked.
