TITILIA Latui’s remarkable 88th-minute goal propelled Lautoka Women’s FC to a thrilling 1-0 victory over Nasinu Women’s FC, ensuring their promotion to the Fiji Football Association (FFA) Women’s Super League 2026. The playoff, conducted at the FFA Academy ground in Vatuwaqa, displayed intense competition as both teams fought hard but remained scoreless until Latui’s late heroics ignited celebrations among the Lautoka players and supporters.

The match illustrated the determination and resilience of both sides, with Nasinu putting up a strong defensive front while Lautoka continuously pressed for the decisive goal. This victory stands as a historic milestone for Lautoka Women’s FC, who will now take the place of Tailevu Naitasiri Women’s FC in the upcoming premier division season.

Lautoka’s squad is particularly young, boasting an average age of just 17 years, highlighting the bright future ahead for the team. Under the management of Madam Riya and coaching of Rohitesh Naicker, and with the guidance of Lautoka Football Association President Shalendra Prasad, the team has showcased impressive potential throughout the season.

Lautoka secured their place in the promotion playoff by dominating the Western Zone of the 2025 FFA Women’s Senior League, finishing with an impeccable record of six wins, 26 goals scored, and only two goals conceded, ending with a total of 18 points. Their playoff opponents, Nasinu Women’s FC, similarly concluded their season undefeated at the Southern Zone, setting the stage for this electrifying clash.

This victory not only marks an important achievement for Lautoka Women’s FC but also reflects the growing talent and competitiveness of women’s football in Fiji, paving the way for a promising future in the sport.
