The director of the R.C. Manubhai Nataleira Sevens tournament, Solo Finau, announced that there are still opportunities available for teams to register for the upcoming event. With the registration deadline set for tomorrow, teams are encouraged to sign up quickly to secure their spots.

Currently, Finau reported that 12 teams have already paid their fees for Tier One, with a target of 16 teams. If the numbers do not increase by the end of the week, they will proceed with the 12 teams already confirmed. In Tier Two, there are 16 teams lined up, with registration contingent on confirming payment of the $300 fee.

For the women’s category in Tier Three, six teams have confirmed their participation, while Tier Four, which includes Under-19 teams, has eight confirmed. The aim is to reach 16 teams in both of these categories as well.

Finau emphasized that the registration process operates on a first-come, first-serve basis and added that they hope to raise $30,000 from the tournament to aid in completing the Nataleira Methodist Church, which has faced significant destruction due to Cyclone Winston and Cyclone Harold.

Ticket prices for the tournament are set at $2 for children under 12 and $5 for adults on Thursday and Friday, while Saturday prices will be $2 for children and $7 for adults.

This tournament not only aims to promote sports and community engagement but also strives to support the rebuilding efforts of a vital local institution, showcasing the resilience of the community.

In summary, the R.C. Manubhai Nataleira Sevens tournament is still open for team registrations with a focus on community rebuilding, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and support in overcoming past challenges.
