The Fiji Police Force has issued a warning to the public against the use of laser lights aimed at airplanes, emphasizing the risk it poses to the safety of everyone on board. This alert was made by Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu following discussions with civil aviation officials earlier today. ACP Driu expressed grave concerns regarding the intentional and improper use of laser pointers in areas near airports. He urged individuals witnessing this hazardous behavior to report it by contacting their nearest police station, dialing 917, or reaching out to Crime Stoppers at 919.
