A man is in police custody following an aggravated robbery at Millers Wharf in Lami that took place in the early hours yesterday. The incident, which occurred shortly after 2 AM, involved multiple suspects who threatened a security guard at a nearby premises.
According to police, the suspect and his accomplices overpowered the security guard, locking him in his booth before making off with a safe. The group then loaded the stolen safe onto a fibreglass boat and fled the scene. Surveillance footage has confirmed that the suspects escaped by sea.
While one man has been apprehended, police are actively pursuing leads to identify and capture the remaining suspects, with preliminary reports suggesting that as many as seven individuals were involved in the robbery. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, and authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in locating the suspects.
