Investigations are currently ongoing following a robbery that took place in Lami during the early hours of December 29. The incident occurred around 2 a.m., when seven men arrived by boat at Millers wharf. After climbing a fence, they stole a safe from a nearby business outlet.

During the robbery, the watchman on duty confronted one of the suspects, asking in iTaukei, “naca qo” (what is this), but was subsequently locked inside his booth, rendering him unable to intervene. CCTV footage from the scene captured the suspects as they wheeled the safe away before escaping in their boat.

Authorities believe that at least seven men were involved in this audacious crime. As of now, no further details have been released regarding the investigation or potential leads. The community is hopeful that law enforcement will soon apprehend those responsible for this brazen act.
