Lami High School Celebrates Rugby Victory: A Community’s Triumph

The principal of Lami High School, Cama Toko, announced that the official celebration for the school’s Under 19 victory in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy will take place this Saturday on the school grounds. The event is being organized by the school’s alumni along with the parents and teachers association.

Toko mentioned that there are plans for a march starting from Harbour Point in Suvavou to Lami High School. He emphasized the involvement of all stakeholders in the preparations, aiming to complete the celebrations before classes resume next Tuesday for Term Three.

While sports are integral to the school’s curriculum, Toko noted that they also offer students potential career opportunities. He stated that the victory has significantly boosted the morale and enthusiasm of the students, generating a positive atmosphere within the school community.

Additionally, Toko revealed that Lami High School has been invited to participate in the upcoming Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition. The school is also preparing for off-season rugby league activities in the first term of the next academic year.

He underscored the school’s commitment to inclusive education, focusing on addressing the needs of each student. Toko highlighted the role of sports as a means to steer students away from drugs and other social challenges.
