Lami High School Celebrates Rugby Triumph with Exciting Events!

The principal of Lami High School, Cama Toko, announced that the official celebration for the school’s victory in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy Under 19 will take place on Saturday at the school premises.

Toko mentioned that the event is being organized by the school’s old scholars, along with the parents and teachers association. There are plans for a march from Harbour Point in Suvavou to Lami High School as part of the celebration.

“All stakeholders are involved in the preparation, and we aim to clear the vakacirisalusalu before classes start again next Tuesday for Term Three,” Toko stated.

He emphasized that while sports are integral to the school’s curriculum, they also present students with career opportunities. “At Lami High, we actively encourage our students to engage in various sports,” he remarked.

The recent win has significantly boosted the morale and enthusiasm of the students, generating many positive vibes within the school community. Toko noted that Lami High School has received invitations to participate in both the Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition.

“We will also be holding off-season training for rugby league in the first term of next year,” he added.

Toko reiterated the school’s commitment to inclusive education, tailored to meet students at their points of need, and indicated that sports serve as a valuable platform to steer students away from drugs and other social challenges.
