Lami High School Celebrates Rugby Triumph with Community Spirit!

Lami High School Principal Cama Toko announced that the official celebration for the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy Under 19 victory will take place on Saturday at the school grounds.

The celebration is being organized by the school’s old scholars, the parents, and the teachers association. Toko mentioned discussions about a potential march from Harbour Point in Suvavou to Lami High.

“All stakeholders are involved in the preparation; we want to get everything done before classes begin for Term Three next Tuesday,” he stated.

Toko emphasized that while sports are an essential part of the curriculum at their school, they also offer a pathway for students’ career development.

“At Lami High, we encourage our students to participate in various sports,” he said, noting that this victory has significantly boosted the morale and enthusiasm among students.

He revealed that Lami High School has received invitations to participate in the Hibiscus touch rugby competition as well as the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition, in addition to preparing for off-season rugby league training for the next academic year.

“We believe in inclusive education; addressing each child’s needs,” Toko added, explaining that sports serve as a means to steer students away from drugs and other social challenges.
