Lami High School Celebrates Rugby Triumph with Community March

Lami High School principal Cama Toko announced yesterday that the official celebration for the school’s victory in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy Under 19 will take place on Saturday at the school grounds.

“The celebration is being organized by the Lami High School alumni, parents, and the teachers’ association,” Toko stated.

He mentioned that there are plans for a march starting from Harbour Point in Suvavou to Lami High. “All stakeholders are involved in the preparations; we aim to wrap up everything before classes start again on Tuesday for Term Three,” he added.

Although sports are a fundamental part of the school’s curriculum, Toko noted that they also offer students various career opportunities. “At Lami High, we encourage our students to engage in all forms of sports,” he said.

“This victory has boosted the spirit and enthusiasm among our students, creating many positive vibes.”

Toko also shared that Lami High School has been invited to participate in the Hibiscus touch rugby competition as well as the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition. “We are also planning off-season training for rugby league ahead of the first term next year,” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of inclusive education, highlighting the school’s commitment to addressing individual student needs. Toko believes that sports serve as a crucial platform for steering students away from drugs and other social challenges.
