Lami High School principal Cama Toko announced that the official celebration for their Under 19 victory in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy will take place this Saturday at the school’s premises.
“The Lami High School alumni, along with the parents and teachers association, are coordinating the celebration,” Toko shared.
There are discussions about organizing a march from Harbour Point, Suvavou, to Lami High School.
“All stakeholders are participating in the preparations as we aim to finalize everything before classes resume next Tuesday for Term Three,” he added.
While sports are an essential part of the curriculum at Lami High, Toko noted that they also provide valuable career opportunities for students.
“At Lami High, we actively encourage our students to engage in various sports,” he stated.
“This recent win has significantly boosted the morale and enthusiasm among our students, spreading a lot of positive energy.”
Toko mentioned that Lami High School has received invites to participate in both the Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition.
“We are also preparing for the rugby league off-season ahead of the first term next year,” he confirmed.
He emphasized the school’s commitment to inclusive education, catering to the diverse needs of students.
Toko also highlighted that sports serve as a key platform to steer students away from drugs and other societal issues.
