Lami High School Celebrates Historic Rugby Victory!

The principal of Lami High School, Cama Toko, announced that the official celebration for the school’s recent victory in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy Under 19 will take place on Saturday at the school grounds.

Toko mentioned that the event is being organized by the school’s alumni, alongside the parents and teachers association. There are plans for a parade starting from Harbour Point, Suvavou, leading to Lami High School.

All relevant stakeholders are working together for the preparations, with the goal of completing the arrangements before classes resume for Term Three next Tuesday.

Toko emphasized the importance of sports in their education system, noting that participation can also pave the way for students’ future careers. He expressed that the recent win has significantly boosted the morale and enthusiasm of the students, creating a positive atmosphere within the school community.

Lami High School has also received invitations to participate in the Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition. Additionally, they are planning to engage in off-season training for rugby league in the upcoming first term.

Toko reiterated the school’s commitment to inclusive education, addressing the individual needs of each student. He highlighted the role of sports as a means to steer students away from drugs and other societal issues.
