The leader of the Fiji Labour Party, Mahendra Chaudhry, has expressed concerns over the government’s morality and functionality during his speech at the Annual Delegates Conference 2024 in Nadi. Chaudhry highlighted the troubling state of the economy and increasing social dissatisfaction among the populace.
He emphasized that the Labour Party has consistently been a voice for the people, stating, “In this year’s conference, we would like to discuss our path ahead to the next election.” Chaudhry pointed out the pressing need for Labour’s contributions, stressing the party’s goal to effect positive change by 2026. He reminded attendees of Labour’s longstanding commitment to serving the Fijian people, referencing the significant achievements of previous Labour governments in 1987 and 1999.
Chaudhry noted that Labour’s strength lies in its compassion, attentiveness to the public’s needs, and resilience during challenging times. He concluded by thanking supporters and rallying them towards a collective effort for a brighter future for Fiji.
This hopeful message from Chaudhry underscores the Labour Party’s commitment to reigniting progress and addressing the pressing concerns of the Fijian people as they prepare for future elections.
