Labasa’s football team has strengthened its chances for a place in the OFC Champions League play-offs with a solid 2-0 victory over Nasinu in the Digicel Fiji Premier League at Subrail Park yesterday. The team secured one goal in each half to clinch the win.
This victory allows Labasa to narrow the points difference with Rewa to just two, as Rewa is scheduled to play today. Currently, Rewa tops the league standings with 34 points, while Labasa follows closely at 32 points. Lautoka is in third place with 28 points. Labasa has played 16 matches, while both Rewa and Lautoka have each played 15.
Fans can anticipate an exciting triple-header at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today, which will feature Navua against Tailevu Naitasiri at 11am, Suva taking on Nadroga at 1pm, and the highly awaited clash between Rewa and Lautoka at 3pm.
