Labasa’s aspirations for the Digicel Fiji Premier League title took a significant hit after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Nadi at King Charles Park yesterday.

The match began positively for Labasa, with Tigi Molea scoring in the third minute. However, both teams struggled to adapt to the slippery conditions on the pitch. Nadi made efforts to find an equalizer before halftime, but Labasa’s solid defense kept them in the lead at 1-0 during the break.

As the rain intensified in the second half, errors began to appear from both defensive sides. Nadi managed to equalize through Ame Votoniu, capitalizing on a mistake by Labasa’s defense.

This draw leaves Labasa in second place in the standings with 29 points, trailing Rewa by four points, who have played one less match.

In other matches that took place yesterday, Tailevu Naitasiri defeated Nasinu 1-0, while Navua and Suva ended their game in a 2-2 draw.
