Labasa’s quest to clinch a third consecutive Battle of the Giants title fell short on Sunday as the team failed to progress past the group stages, ending their two-year championship streak.
Coach Ravneel Pratap had mixed feelings about his team’s performance.
“We did everything right. It’s football; we took risks but missed the reward. We missed so many chances.”
“Disappointed that we let the title go after two years, but congrats to the teams who have qualified for the semifinals,” Pratap remarked.
Pratap also addressed Labasa fans, urging them not to be discouraged by the result.
“Don’t be disappointed, it’s all about the game. We were unlucky… you could see our fitness level was good, everything we did was good, just personal decision making was the thing we lacked,” he explained.
