Labasa’s Reign as Battle of the Giants Champions Comes to an Abrupt End

Labasa’s quest for a third consecutive Battle of the Giants title ended on Sunday as the team was unable to progress past the group stages, concluding its two-year dominance as champions.

Coach Ravneel Pratap shared his thoughts on the team’s performance with mixed emotions.

“We did everything right. It’s football; we took risks but missed the reward. We missed so many chances.”

“Disappointed that we let the title go after two years, but congrats to the teams who have qualified for the semifinals,” said Pratap.

Pratap also addressed Labasa fans, urging them not to lose heart over the result.

“Don’t be disappointed, it’s all about the game. We were unlucky… you could see our fitness level was good, everything we did was good; just personal decision making was the thing we lacked,” he explained.
