Labasa’s New Crown Jewel: Meet Miss Friendly North 2024!

Marica Waqaniburotu, crowned Miss Friendly North 2024, is eager to represent Labasa at the Miss Fiji pageant. Although the national pageant has yet to be officially announced, she is committed to preparing thoroughly to highlight the beauty of her town.

In an interview, Waqaniburotu expressed her dedication to advocating for the issues that affect Labasa and its residents, stating, “I hope to be a better advocate for the people of the North as well.”

Zaheen Ibrahim, president of the Festival of the Friendly North committee, confirmed their support for Waqaniburotu and the Labasa Town Council, saying, “We will fully support the Labasa Town Council.”

In addition to winning the Miss Friendly North title, Waqaniburotu also received the Miss Charity title after her team raised over $19,000. She excelled in the best talent and sarong categories as well.

The first runner-up position went to Miss Labasa Town Council Adi Volitikoro, while Miss Northern Civil Service Vika Tadu was named the second runner-up.
