A new multimillion-dollar industrial zone is being developed in Vakamasisuasua, Labasa, with plans to create 30 lots designated for various businesses and industries. Spearheaded by local entrepreneur Edwin Chand, this initiative promises to significantly boost the local economy, generating millions and forging numerous job opportunities within the community.
Trade Minister Manoa Kamikamica emphasized the transformative nature of this development for Labasa. He highlighted that it will not only provide a modern environment conducive to industrial growth but will also lead to the creation of hundreds of jobs across a spectrum of fields. Positions will be available for both skilled and unskilled workers, including roles in construction and technical areas.
