SURELY Extra Supermarket Labasa demonstrated their dominance in football with a strong home performance, securing a 2-0 victory over Nadroga at Subrail Park to advance to the semi-finals of the Extra Battle of the Giants. The win was celebrated by a lively home crowd, as Labasa continued to showcase their talents on the field.

Labasa’s scoring kicked off in the 25th minute, when Ilisoni Lolaivalu netted his second goal of the tournament. Just 15 minutes later, Jimson Abana added to the tally by converting a well-placed free kick into a goal, solidifying Labasa’s lead before halftime.

Despite the challenge of playing the second half with only ten players after Rusiate Doidoi was issued a second yellow card, Labasa persevered, maintaining their pressure and physical play against Nadroga. As the match progressed, the atmosphere continued to excite fans, even as the temperatures cooled.

With this victory, Labasa joins Rewa, who also advanced from the group stage, in the semi-finals set for next weekend. Labasa will face Lautoka in an anticipated match, taking place tomorrow at 4 PM, while Nadroga will play against Ba at 12 PM.

This skilled performance by Labasa illustrates their resilience and capability, promising an exciting showdown as they chase further success in the tournament. Football fans can remain optimistic as Labasa looks ready to make a significant impact in the upcoming matches.
