Labasa’s hopes of qualifying for the OFC Champions League took a hit at Subrail Park today as they ended up with a 1-1 draw against last-placed Tailevu Naitasiri. The match began with a surprise when Tailevu Naitasiri took an early lead, scoring through France Catarogo.
However, Labasa found a way back into the game when defender Sitiveni Rakai equalized with a powerful 40-yard strike midway through the second half. Despite having several scoring chances late in the match, Labasa’s inability to convert those opportunities proved frustrating for the home side.
Following this match, Extra Supermarket Labasa remains at 28 points after 14 matches, while the hard-fought draw gives Tailevu Naitasiri a total of 9 points.
