Vuo Holiday Homes, a notable retreat in Labasa, has expanded its services in response to a growing demand for accommodation in the area. Initially comprising four villas, the facility has added seven new rooms in a remarkable span of just two months, significantly increasing its capacity.

Managing Director Jiten Chand emphasized that this expansion is aimed at boosting business growth while creating new job opportunities for the local community. This is particularly important during national events held in the Northern Division, which drive up the demand for lodging.

Chand elaborated on the new booking options, stating, “Now we’ve got 11 accommodations in the two villa-holding homes, including single rooms, deluxe rooms with double and single beds, as well as rooms equipped with kitchens.” This variety ensures that guests have flexible choices to suit their needs.

Future plans for Vuo Holiday Homes include the development of an event space designed to host larger gatherings, addressing a notable gap in community services. The proposed marquee will accommodate between 300 to 350 guests, aiming to become a key venue for local events.

Labasa Special Administrator Samuela Ligairi has lauded this initiative, recognizing Vuo Holiday Homes’ role in enhancing the hospitality infrastructure of the region. This expansion coincides with a broader trend of increased investments in Labasa’s tourism and hospitality sector. Other projects, such as the construction of the Vualiku Hotel, are also underway, reflecting a concerted effort to tackle accommodation shortages and stimulate local economic growth.

The developments in Labasa bode well for the future, promising more job opportunities and an influx of visitors to this picturesque area, further establishing it as a desirable destination.
