Damodar Group has unveiled a new 40-room hotel in Labasa town, marking a significant development in the region’s tourism and hospitality sector. This hotel is part of the broader Damodar City Labasa project, which has seen an investment of $60 million from Damodar North Pte Limited, including $10 million dedicated to the hotel’s construction and fit-out.
During the launch, Damodar Group’s CEO, Div Damodar, expressed excitement over the hotel, predicting it would serve as a catalyst for attracting other brands to Labasa. He noted that the introduction of the Ramada Encore by Wyndham is poised to boost the local tourism sector and foster growth in related activities, especially in the scenic areas around Labasa.
The Ramada Encore hotel will cater to both business and leisure travelers, offering 40 well-appointed rooms along with a variety of amenities, such as a conference venue, swimming pool, gym, outdoor sitting area, and dining options. These facilities are intended to enhance the overall guest experience, aligning with the high standards of the Ramada Encore brand globally.
Looking ahead, Mr. Damodar highlighted potential tourism opportunities in Labasa, including hiking tours, river safaris, and fishing excursions. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica acknowledged the importance of such developments, stating that the Fiji Government is committed to supporting investments in Labasa and ensuring the region is well-positioned for future growth.
The Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel is set to officially open later this year.
