Damodar Group has unveiled a new 40-room hotel, which is set to enhance tourism and accommodation options in Labasa town. This hotel is part of the larger Damodar City Labasa project, representing a significant $60 million investment by Damodar North Pte Limited, with $10 million allocated specifically for the hotel’s construction and fit-out.

Div Damodar, the chief executive officer of the Damodar Group, expressed his excitement about the hotel, suggesting it could act as a catalyst for attracting more international brands to Labasa. He emphasized the belief that this development marks the beginning of a new era for tourism and accommodation in Vanualevu, opening doors for further brand presence in the area.

The introduction of the Ramada Encore brand is expected to spur growth in the local tourism sector. Damodar noted that the hotel’s presence would create greater opportunities for complementary tourism activities, particularly in the scenic surroundings of Labasa.

The new Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel aims to cater to the needs of both business and leisure travelers, featuring well-appointed rooms and a variety of amenities. Guests will have access to facilities such as a conference venue, a swimming pool, a gym, outdoor seating areas, and dining options including restaurants and bars.

Looking ahead, Damodar highlighted numerous potential tourism ventures in Labasa, such as hiking tours, river safaris, and fishing excursions.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica acknowledged the significance of the Ramada Encore by Wyndham as Labasa’s first international brand hotel, affirming the government’s commitment to fostering investment and development in the region.

The Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel is expected to open later this year.
