Police are actively searching for a 19-year-old man who went missing in the Wailevu River in Labasa this past weekend. Reports indicate that the young man was fishing with his father along the riverbanks when he slipped and fell into the water, after which he vanished without a trace.

Search efforts were halted yesterday as rescuers faced challenges posed by strong currents and murky waters. However, authorities plan to resume the search today in hopes of locating the missing individual. This incident is believed to add to the growing list of tragic drowning cases in the country.

The community is rallying in support, and hopes remain high for a positive outcome as search operations continue.
