Host Labasa secured the U14 championship title at the 2024 Fiji Primary Schools Inter District Championship (IDC) held at Subrail Park yesterday. Under the guidance of coach Sachin Deo, the team triumphed over Nadi with a score of 1-0 in an exciting final, thanks to a decisive goal from striker Solomone Driver in the second half.
This victory was particularly meaningful for the young athletes, as they had been eliminated in the semifinals last year. Additionally, it marked a celebratory moment, aligning with the district team’s recent IDC triumph in Lautoka.
In the Girls Division, the championship also remained in the North, as Bua claimed victory over Labasa in a penalty shootout, winning 2-1 in a closely fought final.
