Labasa has secured a place in the semi-finals of the FMF Inter District Championship after a challenging 2-1 victory against the host team Lautoka at Churchill Park last night.

The Babasiga Lions got off to a strong start with two impressive goals from Christopher Wasasala in the first half, leading 2-0 at halftime.

Lautoka responded with a powerful strike from Saula Waqa from 20 yards, pulling them back into the contest. However, Labasa faced a setback when Wasasala received a red card for a second yellow offence, leaving them with ten players.

Labasa is set to face Navua tomorrow, while Lautoka will take on Suva.
