The Labasa football team overcame an early deficit to secure a 3-1 victory against Suva in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship held at Lautoka’s Churchill Park yesterday. Joeli Ranitu had given Suva the lead late in the first half, but Labasa responded with goals from Christopher Wasasala, Taniela Waqa, and Junior Fordney Jr, earning them three crucial points.
In another match earlier in the day, John Orobulu delivered an impressive performance, scoring five goals for Rewa in their dominant 7-0 win over Nadroga. Asivorosi Rabo and Epeli Valevou contributed to Rewa’s victory with the additional goals.
During the day’s third match, Lautoka was ahead of Navua 2-0 in the second half at the time of reporting. Saula Waqa and Sitiveni Cavuilagi each found the net for the home team.
Looking ahead, today’s matches feature Navua facing Suva at 2 PM, Nadroga taking on Ba at 4 PM, Rewa squaring off with Nadi at 6 PM, and Lautoka going against Labasa at 8 PM.
