Labasa Set to Welcome New Hotel: What’s in Store?

Major hotel chains, including Wyndham, have approached the Damodar Group to oversee the management of their new 40-room hotel in Labasa. Div Damodar, the CEO of Damodar Group, confirmed that an official announcement regarding this development will be made soon.

“We will be declaring the name very shortly,” he stated in an interview. Damodar noted an influx of significant business inquiries, highlighting the growing confidence that the tourism sector and international brands have in Vanua Levu.

He described Vanua Levu as a largely untapped market for tourism, indicating that the new hotel could serve as a catalyst for attracting additional major brands to Fiji. In addition to accommodation, the hotel will feature an 80-seater conference room and a swimming pool.

The conference facilities will be suitable for workshops and various events. The establishment is expected to create approximately 25 job opportunities and is projected to open by the end of the year.
