Labasa triumphed over Suva with a 1-0 victory in the Digicel Fiji Premier League Round 12 match held at Subrail Park today.
Christopher Wasasala’s decisive goal in the 15th minute, set up by Molea Tigi, secured the win for the Babasiga Lions.
Despite several scoring opportunities, Suva failed to capitalize with missed chances from Solomon Islander Jaygrey Sipakana, Bruce Hughes, and Merill Nand. The second-half introductions of Meli Codro and Gagame Feni did little to enhance Suva’s attack, while Labasa operated efficiently with former Fiji U20 star Melvin Mani commanding the midfield.
Goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva worked hard throughout the match, making several critical saves to maintain the narrow scoreline.
With this victory, Extra Supermarket Labasa leads the points table with 27 points, while Flick Hygiene Suva remains in the bottom three, holding 9 points.
