Labasa triumphed over Suva 1-0 in the highlight match of the Digicel Fiji Premier League Round 12 at Subrail Park today.

Christopher Wasasala’s goal in the 15th minute, set up brilliantly by Molea Tigi, was decisive for the Babasiga Lions.

Suva had several scoring opportunities, but attempts by Solomon Islander Jaygrey Sipakana, Bruce Hughes, and Merill Nand failed to hit the mark.

Despite the introduction of Meli Codro and Gagame Feni in the second half, Suva’s attack remained ineffective, while the hosts operated smoothly with former Fiji U20 player Melvin Mani performing strongly in midfield.

Goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva had a busy afternoon, making several daring saves to preserve the narrow lead.
