Labasa Lights Up as Northern Fiji’s Biggest Christmas Tree Unites the Community

The largest Christmas tree ever erected in the Northern Division will illuminate Labasa this evening, officially kickstarting the festive season and promoting the spirit of unity among diverse communities. The highly anticipated Colgate Christmas Tree Lighting, executed in collaboration with Damodar Labasa, is in its final stages of preparation ahead of the celebration.

Adrian Romanin, the General Manager for Colgate-Palmolive Fiji & the Pacific, emphasized that the event transcends the mere illumination of the tree. He noted it is a heartfelt effort to foster community ties and create unforgettable memories. “Christmas is just another one of those opportunities for us to give back to the community. During the festive season, it’s all about connection and positivity—and behind all of that is the smile. So it’s a very natural fit, but the main thing is bringing everyone together and celebrating a fantastic year,” Romanin shared.

This year’s festivities will also include an array of live entertainment, Christmas carols, choir performances, and exciting giveaways. Families can look forward to a unique Fiji-style snow experience that adds a delightful twist to traditional holiday celebrations.

The event is set to commence at 4 PM in front of the Damodar Cinema in Labasa, and the public is warmly invited to join in on this evening filled with love, joy, and celebration, marking a hopeful and joyous start to the Christmas period.
