Healthcare services at Labasa Hospital are undergoing temporary changes as significant renovation works commence, expected to last for the next five months. The Ministry of Health has confirmed that various key services will be relocated within the hospital compound during this period.
As part of the adjustments, the labor ward will now operate out of the diabetic hub, while services previously provided at the diabetic hub will shift to the HITH hub, formerly known as the old outpatient department. Additionally, the HITH hub itself has been moved to the Chapel at the Post Basic Unit to accommodate these changes.
To manage potential patient overflow, gynecology and female surgical ward services will also be provided in the DLI ward if necessary. The Ministry emphasizes that these renovations are designed to enhance the facilities and improve overall service delivery at the hospital.
These upgrades are a positive step towards better healthcare for the community, reflecting a commitment to enhancing the quality of services provided to the public in the northern division. By implementing these changes, Labasa Hospital aims to ensure continued access to essential health services even during the renovation period.
