The Labasa football team is set to compete against 2024 Rooster Chicken/Scoop Ice Cream Battle of the Giants champions Lautoka FC in the 13th round of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at Churchill Park in Lautoka tomorrow.
Labasa head coach Ravneel Pratap expressed that despite disappointing their fans in recent tournaments, the team has shown consistent performance in the league and is in need of support. He highlighted the challenges of preparing for the match due to the quick transition from the Battle of the Giants tournament to league matches.
“We experienced a loss in the BOG, so our momentum is low, and we are working hard because playing in the league is different from competing in tournaments,” said Pratap. He acknowledged the tough challenge posed by the champion team, noting their strong lineup and home advantage.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 PM.
In other matches taking place tomorrow, a double header will be held at Uprising Ground, where Suva faces Tailevu Naitasiri at 1 PM, followed by a clash between Navua and Ba at 3 PM. Additionally, at Ratu Cakobau Park at 3 PM, Rewa will take on Nasinu. In another fixture kicking off at 1 PM, Nadi will travel to face Nadroga at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
