The 2026 BIC Fiji FACT tournament is set to take place at Subrail Park in Labasa, with pool matches scheduled for June 19, 20, and 21. However, there are concerns regarding the venue for the semi-finals and final, as a private wedding booking has created uncertainty about hosting the crucial matches at Subrail Park.
As a contingency plan, HFC Bank Stadium has been secured as an alternative venue. During a Fiji FA Council meeting, CEO Mohammed Yusuf highlighted the significance of the tournament for Labasa’s economy and emphasized that hosting such events brings considerable benefits to the local community.
Yusuf plans to engage with the government to resolve the venue issue, underscoring how critical decision-making can impact both the community and the broader sports landscape. If the situation is not resolved, the semi-finals and finals could be relocated to HFC Bank Stadium on June 26 and 27.
