Labasa has successfully advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants, topping their group. Head coach Alvin Chand, while expressing satisfaction with their initial performance, noted that there is much work to be done as they prepare for the knockout stage.

Chand highlighted the need for improvement in communication and efficiency in converting opportunities created by their midfielders. “Finishing is one of the areas that we will very closely work on in the training sessions next week,” he stated.

He also acknowledged the significant role played by the team’s supporters in boosting player morale throughout the tournament. “I’d like to thank all the people who supported us throughout the three days of the tournament. Your cheers made the difference, and I’m expecting the same again next week. At the end of the tournament, you will be our 12th player on the field,” he remarked.

The upcoming semifinals and final will take place this weekend at Subrail Park, where Labasa is set to face Lautoka. Fans can tune in for live radio commentary on Radio Fiji Two, ensuring that even those unable to attend can follow the action.

This moment in Labasa’s journey symbolizes not just a quest for victory but also the resilience and spirit of a community coming together to support their team. With a fervent local fanbase and a strong desire for success, Labasa looks to build on their achievements and make a deep run in the tournament.

The competitive nature of Fijian football continues to shine through, as both the teams and their dedicated supporters prepare for the thrilling matches ahead.
