Labasa has secured a place in the semi-finals of the FMF Inter District Championship following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over host team Lautoka at Churchill Park tonight.

The Babasiga Lions started strong, with Christopher Wasasala scoring two impressive goals in the first half, giving Labasa a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Lautoka fought back when Saula Waqa found the net with a powerful shot from 20 yards, making the score 2-1.

However, Labasa’s task became more difficult when Wasasala received a red card for a second bookable offense, leaving his team with ten players.

Labasa will face Navua tomorrow, while Lautoka will take on Suva.
